The Latino College Preparatory
Academy is a charter high school created jointly between The National
Hispanic University and East Side Union High School District. It
was established to provide an alternative to students who are not
succeeding in a large, traditional high school because of a language
difference. The goal of the school is to help students graduate
from high school and have an opportunity to attend college proficient in
English, Spanish and computers. LCPA is housed at the National
Hispanic University, a university campus, where students are part of a
learning community that includes college students and professors as role
