DRESS CODE:
As all students and parents are aware, the Latino College Preparatory Academy requires that each student report to school in uniform. The faculty and staff of the LCPA developed this policy with the input and support of parents and students. We all agreed that uniforms help students develop pride in their school. Other reasons for requiring uniforms are that they teach students to follow rules and to dress appropriately for special events. Our uniform policy was also created for security reasons. Students in uniform are easily identified by our University's faculty, staff, and visitors. These guidelines must be followed everyday:
PROFFESSIONAL DRESS DAYS:
Boys:
- White dress shirt with a collar
- Black dress pants
- Black tie
- Black dress shoes
Girls:
- White dress buttoned long sleeve blouse with a collar
- Black knee-length skirts without slits
- Black, closed-toe shoes. No high heels
- During the winter, you can wear black dress pants (slacks)
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRANCE:
- Student's primary language is Spanish,
- Student is an English language learner whose English reading skill is below grade level as measured by the Stanford Achievement Test,
- Students are recommended by their principal and a teacher,
- Students have the aspiration to go to college,
- Parent agrees to participate in school activities.
