About LCPA

Latino College Preparatory Academy (LCPA) is a public charter high school in East San Jose dedicated to empowering English Language Learners (ELLs) through a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum and a supportive, family-centered environment. With 25 years of proven success, LCPA provides a nurturing space led by fully certificated educators who focus on academic achievement, biliteracy in English and Spanish, and leadership development. Serving approximately 430 students, our school emphasizes high expectations, assessment-driven instruction, and opportunities that prepare students for success in college and beyond.

Rooted in the belief that all ELL students can thrive in competitive colleges and professional settings, LCPA prepares scholars to meet the demands of the 21st-century global workforce. The school's mission centers on cultivating leadership, excellence, responsibility, and resilience; values that guide every aspect of its academic and cultural programs. Through intentional teaching, extended learning opportunities, and community engagement, LCPA equips students with the skills, confidence, and purpose to succeed academically,  embrace their cultural identity, and become leaders who create positive change locally and globally.

Vision

The vision of the Latino College Prep Academy (LCPA) is to be recognized as the premier provider of High School English Language Learner educational programs, thus ensuring innovative, successful leaders with critical thinking, decision-making, information technology, and communications skills.

Mission

The mission of the Latino College Prep Academy is to enable underserved high school English Language Learners to become bi-literate in English, Spanish, mathematics, and science. These skills will ensure their ability to successfully complete the requirements for a high school diploma and pursue post-secondary educational opportunities of their choice.
